Using Writer's Workbench 8.18 in Microsoft Word 2007

Click here to view video tutorial.

Microsoft Word 2007 handles Word Add-Ins differently than previous versions of Word.

The first time that you double-click on the Writer's Workbench icon after installing Writer's Workbench, a Security Warning will indicate that "Macros have been disabled."  These macros must be enabled for Writer's Workbench to run.

Click on the "Options..." button.

First invocation of Writer's Workbench - Macros Disabled
A "Security Alert - Macro" menu will appear.

You must "Trust all documents from this publisher" and click "OK" to use Writer's Workbench with Word 2007.

Then, WWB will determine sizes of windows used while analyzing compositions based on your versions of Word and Windows, and your system's resolution.

Note: You will only see the security warning the first time that you double-click on the Writer's Workbench icon provided that you follow the steps above.

Now, open an existing document (our sample document, "The Tempest," can be opened with <Alt-B>) or start typing your composition.

Microsoft Word 2007 no longer uses traditional toolbars.  Click on the "Add-Ins" tab to access Writer's Workbench functions for the composition.
Click on the WWB Analysis Programs button to select an analysis to run.
After the analysis is displayed, click on the "Add-Ins" tab to access Writer's Workbench analysis tools.
Other than a different display and clicking on the "Add-Ins" tab, Writer's Workbench operates the same in Word 2007 as in previous versions of Word.  Additional documentation is available at www.writersworkbench.com and then by clicking on the button toward the upper-left corner of our homepage.
